Trish & Rudi Widdershoven - teamW
We have called Oceanside home since 1983. We bring a true team approach to real estate, believing in working together with our clients to support them in making well informed decisions during the process. We want to ensure the experience is enjoyable. For us, the real estate industry is about working with people and building relationships.
Trish became licensed in 1989, became #1 in her office in 1991 and has contributed to be a top producer since. In 2002 Trish joined RE/MAX. We expanded our real estates services when Rudi joined Trish full time and activated his real estate license at the beginning of 2003. Patti Lee our Client care coordinator joined the team in 2004.
Real estate is a career that is constantly changing with new legal precedents, computerization, different homes, and people and marketing conditions. We love the challenge of keeping on top of the profession by being involved, continuously taking courses and always trying to help clients make good decisions.
Real estate planning is one of the most significant processes we have learned and it is very interesting. Most people plan other life decisions really well, but frequently with real estate we act impulsively or make purely emotional choices led by circumstance. By planning ahead, you can take some of the pressure off and make better decisions in times of stress.
We have built our own home and renovated three others (with & without a contractor). We try and use and openly share our life experiences to help our clients making the right decisions for them.
Trish Widdershoven - Realtor, Partner
I became first in my office in 1991, and have continued being a top producer since then. I earned my way in the Medallion Club, received the RE/MAX Platinum, and Hall of Fame Awards. I continue to be involved in the industry and also have worked on a number of community volunteer committees and boards over the years.
As a young child our family moved a lot, my Dad always said he had the "gypsy in his soul". Fourteen moves later (including Ontario, Halifax, Seattle, Calgary, the Kootenays & Prince Rupert) I ended up in Oceanside in May of 1983 with my own family. This is home and we love it! Maybe being a Realtor and assisting others with moving was my destiny.
My past experiences of being widowed, single parenting, moving and packing tons (with & without professional movers), and having been let go from a job due to reorganization of a company, plus having had elderly parents living far away and worrying about them (they have since both passed on), I feel make me uniquely qualified to understand the joy and stress of relocating.
Through several work experiences I searched for a career that would conbine all of my life and work experience and took the real estate course in 1989. My clients, (who seem to become friends), tell me I am empathetic with what they are going through while trying to and buy a home. I have learned a lot about myself thru this career path, and I continue to do so every day.

Rudi Widdershoven - Realtor, Partner
I am an Island guy - born &raised on Cape Breton Island and eventually making Vancouver Island home. In 1978 I joined the RCMP and they told me "go west young man, go west." In 1992 after being in the Parksville area for 9 years I left the RCMP in order to remain here. I was always in the background of Trish's real estate business, and I joined Trish full time activating my real estate license at the beginning of 2003. My experience as an RCMP member for 14 years and 10 years with the City of Parksville with responsibilities for Bylaw Compliance, Business Licensing and Economic Development gives me diverse insights into real estate transactions and the community.
